Vegan Yarn for Crochet and Knitting
Aiming to find alternatives that can make crafting more sustainable, we at Made By You have developed vegan yarns for crochet and knitting.
With an understanding of this need to be conscious of our relationship with others and with nature, we strive to develop products that are both high-quality and sustainable.
For this reason, we seek to produce vegan yarns that are exclusive to the Brazilian market, without sacrificing beauty or originality.

Vegan yarns exclusive to the Brazilian market
Throughout the production process of both crochet and knitting yarns, there are stages where chemical products are used for both softening the fibers and dyeing them.
These chemical products typically contain animal particles in their composition.
In the production of vegan yarns, which are part of the range of products made by Made By You, substitutions were made so that the entire process could develop products with vegan characteristics.
For quality finished pieces, we recommend quality crochet and knitting kits.
Yarn softening process
Regarding the softening of our vegan yarns, this process is done using a softener that holds certifications from Golden Technology Ltda and Sirius Especialidade Ltda.
In the vegan yarn softening process, a microemulsion product developed by Golden Technology Ltda is used, in addition to another product manufactured by Sirius Especialidade Ltda.
The certificates issued by these companies guarantee that the composition of these products does not contain any ingredients of animal origin.
Furthermore, throughout the entire development of these products, no toxicological tests were performed on animals.
Raw material
Yarns identified as vegan in their description are made with certified fibers or, in the case of acrylic yarns, with synthetic fibers; therefore, there are no ingredients of animal origin in their composition.
In addition, we can confirm that the dyes used for coloring the yarns are mineral-based, thus qualifying as vegan raw materials.
Our yarns
#85 Jute Yarn
Ideal for making blankets, placemats, rugs, baskets, and other pieces, jute yarn has a very rustic look.
Designed for creating decorative items, the yarn has sustainable characteristics, as it is produced from a plant-based raw material—a natural, organic, and biodegradable herb called jute.
Regarding jute, it is a 100% organic, natural, and biodegradable raw material, meaning it is harmless to both human health and the environment.
Furthermore, the raw material is cultivated in the floodplains of both the Solimões and Amazon rivers.
Another important characteristic of the production of yarn using this raw material is that it provides a source of income for about 15,000 families in both the states of Amazonas and Pará.
For the families who rely economically on jute farming, the cultivation is integrated into the Amazon biome.
The yarn is manufactured with a biodegradable product, as the raw material is quickly absorbed by nature, thus ensuring a reduction in environmental impact.
Additionally, the yarn is not dyed; its color is natural to the raw material, meaning there is no need for chemical products, which reduces water consumption during production.
#86 Vanessa Montoro Yarn
