Yarn 72 is made from organic cotton that grows colored from the plant. This is not an exaggeration: the plant produces the fiber already in shades of brown and beige, so the yarn requires no dyeing. It is soft to the touch, drapes smoothly, and its slightly opaque surface enhances every stitch you make, in crochet and knitting. This is the yarn for those who want to create knowing exactly where what they have in their hands comes from.
Weaving experience: the yarn is soft and gives the piece a very smooth drape and feel. The more opaque surface further enhances the stitches created in crochet or knitting. It has low twist, so it's worth knitting with a little more attention so the yarn doesn't split.
Yarn Story: Yarn #72 was developed in partnership with NCC Natural Cotton Color, based on Embrapa technology where the plant produces already colored fiber. The cotton is grown by small farmers in family farming at the Margarida Maria Alves settlement, in Juarez Távora (PB), in an 18-hectare rainfed system, without synthetic fertilizers or insecticides. As it does not require dyeing, the process saves about 87.5% of the water of a conventional finish.
TIP
Purchase the necessary amount of skeins to make your piece, thus ensuring they are from the same dye lot.
